How would you compare/contrast Allsvenskan and HockeyEttan- Sweden Division 1?
HockeyAllsvenskan is the stronger of the two leagues and sits one level above HockeyEttan is the Swedish pro hockey system. The level of players across the Allsvenskan is stronger overall and players are compensated more financially in Sweden's 2nd pro tier. You'll find high quality imports in both leagues, but clubs in HockeyAllsvenskan generally have larger budgets to attract a bit higher caliber imports. In HockeyEttan, it's not uncommon to find a number of high end N American imports with prior experience playing well in levels such as NCAA, USports, and quality junior programs. Although HockeyEttan is the 3rd tier in Sweden, teams here could compete well with many 1st and 2nd tiers in other countries that aren't as dominant in the hockey world as Sweden.
With over a decade of scouting games in each of these leagues, we know them well. Additionally, we’ve gathered insights by talking to players and staff members in both leagues.
