Aleksandr Petrov Joins Our Team As Finnish Professional Scout

August 29, 2024

We’re excited to announce the addition of Aleksandr Petrov to our scouting team as a professional scout focused on the Finnish region. Aleksandr will be dedicated to scouting talent across Finland, from promising young junior players up to top-tier players in Mestis/Liiga.

Before joining our team, Aleksandr distinguished himself over several seasons as a professional ice hockey journalist and an ice hockey statistician.

Since 2022, he has extensively covered games in Finland ranging from the U20 level up to the top ranks in Mestis and Liiga both for the regular seasons and playoffs.

In his new role, Aleksandr will continue to bring his expertise and perspective to the Finnish ice hockey scene. He will focus on uncovering and nurturing young talent within the Finnish hockey leagues, ensuring these Finnish athletes gain the recognition and opportunities that they deserve. His efforts will be instrumental in advocating for younger players, helping them secure placements that align with their skills and aspirations, whether that is in Finland’s top leagues or internationally, including the NCAA and North American professional ranks.

Throughout the season, Aleksandr will bring additional exposure through his coverage (monthly blogs). This league coverage and team spotlight pieces will offer a closer look at Finnish clubs and teams, providing in-depth analysis and raising awareness of Finnish hockey.

Quote on the addition:

“We’re excited to welcome Aleksandr to our team. From all our conversations with Aleksandr, it’s clear he has a strong passion for the game and is deeply rooted in the Finnish hockey landscape on the ground across the levels. His added experience as a hockey journalist and statistician helps bolster his understanding and makes him an ideal fit for our scouting efforts in Finland.”

With Aleksandr joining us as our latest team member, we look forward to success together in our aim to help Finnish players across the region in their hockey goals.
