The ECHL sits at a much higher caliber than Norway's second tier. The majority of ECHL teams have diect affiliations with AHL/NHL clubs above them who loan down many players, Norwegian First Division has players with top league experience paired with up and coming players, but the level isn't as high as it is in the ECHL.
